MPCC Crash to Worst Ever Defeat at Woodborough
MPCC managed a day of records as they crashed to their biggest margin of defeat and lowest ever total as a shameful batting display saw them all out for 21 chasing 140 at a damp Woodborough.

Only three players actually managed to score runs.

No man of the match was awarded.

MPCC Topple The Auld Enemy
Having lost the first game of the season to rain, MPCC made the trip to Upton mindful that a lack of match practice could easily see them undone by their formidable opponents. Losing the toss, MPCC were unsurprisingly put into bat on a bog of a wicket that had seen heavy rain for a number of days leading up to the game.
Standout performers were Glenn Longden who did looked like a Mansfield Chris Gayle before being given out by Carl Gabbitas (who wasn't umpiring at the time but also batting??) on 30, Darron Hall, who rediscovered some of his form with the bat that eluded him last season (but that he more than made up for with the ball) to score a respectable 23 before being caught, Carl Gabbitas with a healthy 18 and the ever dependable Andy Wagstaff who was unlucky to go on 17 with the faintest of nicks to the Upton Keeper (that's what walking look's like Daz!)

Finishing on an impressive 140 having uncharacteristically stayed in (just) for all 40 overs, MPCC were confident they had a score they could defend.

The confidence was justified as a number of MPCC bowlers posted impressive figures, notably Carl Gabbitas with 1 for 14 off 8 overs including three maidens and Matt Sisson with 3 for 13 off 8 overs including two maidens.

As the light began to leave us, some undesirable fielding almost gave Upton a sniff but the lad's held on for an impressive 12 run victory under testing circumstances.

For his contribution with both bat and ball..........Man of the Match was awarded to Carl Gabbitas.

Amazing Lookalikes

I couldn't sign off the season without an MPCC amazing lookalike. As per last year..........I hope that "lookalikes" will see us through entertainment wise to nets in 2012. So I thought I'd continue with this picture of infamous "adult performer" Randy Spears together with our very own opening bat and red wine connoisseur Darron Hall! Ever noticed you never see them in the same place at the same time?

Hope He's Not Wearing White!?
